A Small, but Important Haul

While going through my usual motions of video game hunting around NYC, I came across two games that basically made my day.

My first find was a copy of BlaZeon: The Bio-Cyborg Challenge (or people will just refer to it as BlaZeon) for the SNES. A great shmup that was made by Atlus, and often not remembered by much of the gaming population. A shame really.

The great find in my mind, however, was The Battle of Olympus. This gem of an NES game plays similar to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and features a large amount of mythology packed into it. You play as Hero (Orpheus), and you must save your love, Heroine (Eurydice), from the Underworld.

The Battle of Olympus is a game that was overlooked during the days of the NES, and unfortunately can be a little hard to find sometimes because of that. If you do see a copy of it out on your retro game hunting adventures, I'd advise you to pick it up, seeing as how you should be able to score a copy of it for under $10. It does make a great addition to someone's NES collection, especially if you are a fan of Greek mythology like myself.
