This edition of NNBR features: Steve McQueen and a gaggle of POWs in The Great Escape, Morgan Freeman in the The Shawshank Redemption because... he's in everything, and a few Wise Guys in GoodFellas.
1.) The Great Escape (1963) | Blu-ray Release Date: May 7th, 2013
In 1943, the Germans opened Stalag Luft North, a maximum-security prisoner-of-war camp, designed to hold even the craftiest escape artists. In doing so, however, the Nazis unwittingly assembled the finest escape team in military history who worked on what became the largest prison breakout ever attempted. Based on a true story.
From Nicholas Pileggi's true-life bestseller Wiseguy, GoodFellas explores the criminal life like no other movie. Directed and co-written by Martin Scorsese, it was judged 1990's Best Picture by the New York, Los Angeles and National Society of Film Critics and named to the American Film Institute's Top-100 American Film List. Electrifying performances abound, and from a standout cast that includes Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Lorraine Bracco and Paul Sorvino. Joe Pesci walked off with the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award. It "bristles with passion, wit and style" and endures as "an American classic" (Peter Travers, Rolling Stone).

Framed for murder, upstanding banker Andy Dufresne begins a new life at Shawshank prison, where he slowly comes to be admired by the other inmates -- including an older lifer named Red -- for his integrity and unquenchable sense of hope.

My article last week on Retrowaretv.com was about the Sega Dreamcast -- click this link to check it out, but I wanted to post a picture that I took earlier of "what dreams are made of..."
THE SEGA DREAMCAST!
The system was unique, but short-lived. Never let the dream die, let it live on to see another day. Take it out of the closest, dust it off, and let that oddly loud beep when you turn the Dreamcast on take you away to the not-so-distant past.

Being an article contributor on Retrowaretv.com definitely has its perks, as I am networked with some of the greatest talent out there in the retro gaming community. One bright and shining example of the talent that is on Retrowaretv.com comes not from one individual, but rather a freakin' band that has its own show on the site!
On Being Human is an extremely talented and prolific band that features their video game inspired music via the show, "The Humans Are Coming," on Retrowaretv.com, and they just happen to be one of the most creative bands in regards to translating video game medleys in new and refreshing ways. Their latest medley is based off of a game that seems to not get a lot of love from musicians, but is heavily regarded as one of the most ground-breaking games to ever be released -- I of course am referring to the one... the only... GoldenEye for the Nintendo 64!
Please, enjoy this GoldenEye medley from On Being Human, and be sure to: check out their show on Retroware.tv, follow them on Twitter and Facebook, and subscribe to them on YouTube.
